Aberdeen Science Centre has revealed a line-up of events as the venue prepares to move to its new permanent premises in June.

The Science of Magic is already underway, taking place every weekend and holiday until March 1.

Unveiling the science behind the curtain of magic shows, visitors will see the science which magicians use to enchant audiences with their impressive tricks and skills.

Tonight from 6.30am to 9pm there will be an adult-only “science after dark” quiz night.

Themed around New Year’s resolutions including dry January, fitness goals and spending more time with friends and families, the event will allow participants to celebrate all three while working as a team.

Catering for little explorers, the venue is hosting a magic school on Saturday and Sunday, with youngsters getting to stir up some magic in the centre’s potion workshop.

Visitors are encouraged to have a go at programming robots during a half-term special event for all the family from February 13 to 19.

For most workshops, no prior booking is required, and normal entry fees apply.

The centre is undergoing a multi-million-pound redevelopment and is due to reopen in June, with work being carried out at The Tramsheds on Constitution Street.

Ahead of the centre’s reopening, visitors can continue to enjoy interactive exhibits, activities and science events at the centre’s temporary premises on 107 George Street.
