An Aberdeen charity celebrated its third anniversary with an afternoon of bingo fundraising.

Miscarriage Information Support Service (Miss) became a registered charity early last year after starting out as a monthly support group providing comfort to people following a miscarriage.

An event was held at the Ashvale to recognise the milestone.

Founder Abi Clarke said: “It was a great turnout, 57 people attending.

“We had games of normal bingo, Irish bingo, heads & tails and we had stall holders there as well.

“There were lots of raffle prizes up for grabs including a tour of the Original 106 fm studio, a football game and all of the usual things like wine and chocolate.”

The cash raised from the fundraiser will go towards a Pregnancy After Loss support group and help to raise awareness of the group.

It will also be spent on providing early loss pregnancy boxes for local hospitals, which will include a scan photo, written support information, flower seeds, a candle and information about the charity.

Mrs Clarke believes this will provide some comfort to those going through a loss.

“I do think that after a loss everyone deals with it in a different way but some people will find some comfort to know they’ll always have a box to remember their baby.”

The charity has been going from strength-to-strength and Mrs Clarke said she was delighted to see continue with so many taking part in the celebration.

“It really is amazing,” she said.

“I’d also like to thank everyone for their help, particularly the people who came to the event, The Ashvale, volunteers and stall holders.

“Our members need the service.”
