Aberdeen City Council have put a temporary halt to the collection of recycling and brown bins in the city.
Waste services will now be working at reduced levels in order to prioritise general waste collection.
The move will only affect households with wheeled bins and residents are being instructed not to put out their recycling or brown bin for collection.
Until the suspension is lifted, it is advised that food waste should also go in with general waste.
Recycling points are still available at many supermarkets and shopping centres but residents should not make special trips to use them.
The council has also warned that any additional items left beside bins will not be collected.
All household waste and recycling centres in Aberdeen have closed to the public including those at Bridge of Don, Hazlehead, Bucksburn, Dyce, and Tullos.
