Aberdeen City Council has announced a temporary four-weekly cycle for collecting bins, garden waste and recycling.
The new rota is to ensure that the crews undertaking kerbside collections can maintain social distancing in their truck cabs.
The collections will be:
- Brown bins – collected weeks beginning April 6 and April 13, then once every four weeks
- Mixed recycling – collected weeks beginning April 20 and April 27, then once every four weeks
- General waste – collected every two weeks
Each will be picked up on the household’s usual collection day.
People are able to download a PDF calendar of the new schedule from the city council website.
A council spokeswoman said: “This change to the working practice, coupled with less experienced staff who have been brought in to assist the service, means that collections may be a little slower than usual and we ask householders to be aware of this.”
