Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University tops Scottish league table

An Aberdeen university has been named the best modern institution in Scotland.

The Robert Gordon University is celebrating a positive performance in the Complete University Guide 2021, climbing 49 places in its UK ranking for student satisfaction.

The university also remains in the top three for graduate prospects in Scotland.

Principal Professor John Harper said: “We pride ourselves on our student-centred approach to the learning environment so I am delighted that this has been further demonstrated by a significant rise for student satisfaction in the UK ranking of this league table.

“We place a strong emphasis on providing our students with not only the knowledge but the skills and experience to thrive in successful careers so we also welcome our place as one of Scotland’s top three universities for graduate prospects.”

RGU also secured top place in Scotland for its food science, librarianship, information management and physiotherapy courses while these ranked top five in the UK.

They also came second in Scotland for occupational therapy and building courses.

The Complete University Guide 2021 ranks 130 institutions across the UK based on 10 measures including student satisfaction, graduate prospects and investment in academic and student facilities.

Prof Harper added: “We are pleased to have a number of courses top in Scotland, and ranked highly in the UK, demonstrating that our staff show strong dedication in developing and delivering a high quality educational agenda.”
