Police investigating the death of a woman in Suffolk have charged a man with murder
Police targeted rogue drivers during a two-day crackdown on one of the north-east’s busiest roads.
Officers from the Bucksburn community policing team carried out checks at the Dyce Drive roundabout on the A96 following complaints from members of the public.
The crackdown was part of Operation Whitebeam, which aims to improve road safety and motorists’ behaviour.
Constable Paul Fraser, who took part in the operation, said: “We have had a number of complaints from the public about motorists incorrectly using the nearside lane of the roundabout to enter Dyce Drive.
“This causes unnecessary hold-ups at the roundabout and affects the flow of traffic and can also be a cause of collisions.
“We want to encourage motorists to drive in the correct lanes, which will ultimately benefit all road users.”
One driver was issued a fixed penalty notice for careless driving, and another received a notice for a mobile phone offence. More than 30 other drivers received warnings.
