An oil worker has been convicted of attacking and abusing women in the north-east for the last 24 years.
David Cox showed no emotion as a jury of nine women and six men told Aberdeen Sheriff Court that the engineer was guilty of “violently” abusing his ex-partner more than 20 years ago, his wife for the past two decades and even attacking a child.
Sheriff Graeme Napier released the 63-year-old on bail, but warned him to expect a custodial sentence when he returns to court next month.
Cox, who lives at Stonehaven, denied ever attacking Rosemary Ringwood, his former girlfriend, and his wife Corrina Cox – who both said he would launch into “violent outbursts” without warning.
Cox even attacked his wife when she was carrying their first child and blamed her for hurting the baby. As she left court yesterday, she said he was an “evil man”.
