A north-east butcher has admitted raping an Aberdeen medical science student as she was walking home from a night out.
Pitor Buczynski met his drunken victim in the early hours of September 1 last year as she made her way home from town.
The 30-year-old then led the young woman into a nearby garden before they started to kiss. As the sexual contact progressed his victim tried to get him to stop. However despite her cries and screams for help Buczynski continued and proceeded to rape her until four friends who were walking by came to her aid.
When police officers arrived they found the terrified student covered in blood with torn clothes. Her hair was dishevelled and filled with twigs and garden debris.
The contents of her handbag was also strewn across the ground.
Buczynski, a butcher in Portlethen, had been on trial this week at the High Court in Aberdeen accused of assaulting a former prostitute and raping the student within a 24 hour period.
The Polish national originally denied the charges however pled guilty to an amended charge of rape minutes before his victim was due to take to the witness stand. His not guilty pleas to the assault charges were accepted by the Crown.
The court heard Buczynski had initially been engaging in consensual sex with his victim, however when she realised what she was doing she asked him to stop – but her carried on regardless.
Advocate depute Mark McGuire said that the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had originally been out in town with some classmates and her boyfriend.
However after the pair had a fight she decided to walk home alone. Mr McGuire said that police CCTV captured most of her journey however when she reached Charles Street she became lost from view.
The court heard this is when she met Buczynski, who until this night was unknown to her.
Mr McGuire said a nearby resident could hear the pair having what she believed was consensual sex for around 15 minutes. However shortly after the woman started to shout and scream for help and was “clearly distressed”.
He said: “The witness could hear the complainer using the word rape and she was asking him to stop. This went on for around one minute.
“Shortly after they began having intercourse she changed her mind. She told him this. She began to shout louder and louder but he still continued on. He continued having sex with her even when she said what he was doing was rape.
“She was crying and repeatedly pleading with him to get off her. As the four friends approached he got up.”
Buczynski, of 64 St Machar Court, Aberdeen, was released on bail and sentence was deferred yesterday until next month at the High Court in Edinburgh.
