The aftermath of yesterday’s severe weather is still being felt across Aberdeen.
Aberdeen City Council closed Kirkhill School in Cairngorm Gardens because of a boiler failure meaning there is no heating or hot water.
Great Western Road Pre-School on Broomhill Road was able to open today despite water flooding into the entrance hall.
Meanwhile, residents across the city spent this morning surveying the damage to their homes.
In particular, people living in the Rubislaw area of the city claimed problems where the drainage infrastructure had exacerbated the adverse conditions.
Fraser McGaw, who lives in Viewfield Road said: “I have never seen flooding in this area like this before, and I have lived here just over two years.
“The water congregates at the top and the bottom of the road.
“There’s only a couple of drains there which were blocked with leaves which probably made the problem worse.
“I was shocked at the scale of traffic problems and there was a BMW broken down in the water.
“There’s a burn running next to the road which probably added to the problem.”
