Aberdeen Art Gallery will throw open its doors for the first in a series of after-hours events next week.
During the adults only event, visitors can view the Aberdeen’s War and James McBey war artist exhibitions.
But as well as perusing the art on display, visitors are being encouraged to get involved by dressing up in wartime clothing, which will be provided.
There will also be challenges and secret missions, a pop-up licensed bar and musical performances from singer Cindy Douglas.
Anna Shortland, informal learning officer and event co-ordinator at the venue, said: “The art gallery is an amazing, unique place at any time of the day, and so we are confident that people will have a brilliant night.
“We know that our visitors are keen to see the gallery in a more informal and social context – having fun in a museum or art gallery is not just for children but for adults too.”
Craft lovers will be able to create an alternative remembrance poppy or work with printmakers from Peacock Visual Arts to make their own propaganda.
The After Hours: Creative Invasion event is aimed at visitors aged 18 and older and gives them the chance to visit venues outwith normal opening hours. It is being held from 6.30pm to 10pm on Friday, May 16 at the Schoolhill gallery.
