Bike bells were given out as part of the city council's Active Travel Action Plan
Aberdeen City Wardens have been handing out free bike bells to cyclists along the Deeside Way this week.
The scheme, part of the city council’s Bike Week, is designed to encourage cyclists to make their presence known to pedestrians as they make use of the city’s paths.
It is part of a wider initiative called the Active Travel Action Plan, which aims to help grow the cycling community in Aberdeen by promoting bike-friendly projects.
Councillor Ross Grant, the city council’s cycling representative, said: “It’s great to see that many of our younger cyclists are being encouraged to make sure they have bike bells to allow them to make cycling safer when they are out and about.
“The Active Travel Action Plan will be a fantastic way to help encourage more people to cycle or walk about the city.
“Cycling or walking is a great way to get around and we want to make it as easy as possible for residents and visitors.”
