This year marks the first T in the Park to be held at Strathallan Park

Despite the weather warnings, the sun shone on the crowds at T in the Park as the first full day of acts kicked off the festival in style.

Among the acts who took to the stage yesterday were perennial T favourites Kasabian who headlined the main stage last night.

David Guetta provided the hands in the air moments over at the Radio One Stage and Mark Ronson gave the crowds something to dance to in the King Tuts tent – hot off the heels of his hit Uptown Funk, one of the biggest-selling tracks of the past year.

Some of the other highlights throughout the day included the soulful Sam Smith and 1990s favourite Fat Boy Slim.

As Annie Mac finished her set it was hard to believe she has another set to come today (Saturday).

T in the Park favourite Fatboy Slim was as popular as ever, while Rudimental, Duke Demont and Mark Robson had the Strathallan crowd in raptures.

Tommy Gillespie, from Stonehaven, said “It’s been great, I’ve seen Kasabian about a dozen times but tonight they were something special. “It took a while to get used to the new venue but it has been a great experience.” The new site may have been muddy but it has certainly been so far so good for the crowd and the new venue.
