One of the biggest names in Scottish music is to perform at one of the Scotland’s biggest charity fundraisers.

Pop star Midge Ure will headline the Touch of Tartan Ball at Aberdeen’s Beach Ballroom on Friday November 20 to raise money for CHILDREN 1ST.

The Touch of Tartan Ball is one of The Granite City’s most prestigious charity events, having raised more than 1.7 million for the children’s charity during the past 27 years.

Lady Caris Stephen of the volunteer committee organising the event said: “We are delighted to confirm Midge Ure will be appearing at the Touch of Tartan Ball.

“This year is the 30th anniversary of Live Aid which he produced with Sir Bob Geldof.

“It is therefore particularly special that he will take time to play everyones favourite hits including Dancing with Tears in my Eyes, If I was and Vienna.”

This years Touch of Tartan sponsors include Aberdeen Asset Management, BP, Dales Engineering, Spar, Anderson, Anderson and Brown, Douglas Hotel, Wood Group and Norsk Alloys.

Fundraiser Kate Smith said: “Attracting a talent of the stature of Midge Ure to the event just shows how special they have made the Touch of Tartan Ball.”

A limited number of tables are still available for the ball.
