Award winning and popular Channel 4 programme Come Dine With Me, are looking for Aberdeen contestants for an up-coming episode.
The show producers stoked up a lot of interest on social media last night after posting a Facebook status update.
Come Dine With Me said: “#COUPLES in #ABERDEEN and the surrounding areas! We are now taking applications. Please email comedinewithme@shiver.tv with your names, numbers and ages!”
Over 1,000 people responded to the post and shared it amongst friends, with many expressing a hungry competitive readiness.
Joyce Findlater tagged a few friends in the status saying: “Linda Keith, Morag Pilkington You’ve had your practice run now do it for the cameras.”
Natalie Haggarty said: “Diane Adamson …. Neil’s burgers and a homemade cake from you… Winning menu!”
Christine Sarah McNeil, called upon her friends to follow through on their Come Dine With Me (CDWM) fandom.
She said: “Caroline McGregor and April Strachan – you guys have both expressed a love of CDWM in the past…nows your chance. Please put your names forward and make some amusing TV for me.”
The show last came to the Granite City in it’s 26th season a few years ago but has visited the north-east before.
The first Aberdeen Come Dine With Me was filmed as part of series 5.
The episodes were shown in a one hour special though rather than five separate tea time episodes.
Contestants in Come Dine With Me Aberdeen were Rick Breckenridge (Spittal), Robert Calder (Aberdeen), Laura Rojales (Portlethen) and Amanda Westlake (Fyvie).
Laura Rojales, a carer at Lethen Park Care Home, cooked mussels in a white wine and oyster sauce and prawn tempura as a her starter with Chicken Pastel with Yorkshire pudding for her mains.
For dessert Laura made Leche flan.
To give her prawn tempura some zest Laura added some sprite drink and white wine.
Laura was joint winner with Bob and won £500 from the £1000 cash prize for getting 22 points out of a possible 30.
She sent the money home to her children in the Philippines.
Robert Calder, was the Landlord of the Queen Vic pub in Rosemount.
He cooked Scottish dishes including his own recipe for Cullen Skink tart.
For mains Bob cooked stoved howtowdie wi’ drappit eggs, skirlie and new potatoes.
As a dessert he made grilled Scottish strawberries with Pimms, vanilla ice cream and homemade shortbread.
Bob wore his kilt for the evening and guests were piped in to the meal.
Bob and Laura were humble joint winners both scoring 22 points out of a possible 30.
