A mile-long stretch of the north-east’s busiest road will be reduced to a 10mph limit as carriageway improvements costing £300,000 are carried out.
The restriction will be in place on the southbound A90 Aberdeen-Dundee road between Bridge of Muchalls and Westport.
New road markings will also be put in place as part of the investment by Transport Scotland, which is aimed at mending potholes and cracks along the route.
Night works will start on the trunk road – which is maintained by Bear Scotland – on Sunday, August 16 and continue for five days between 7.30pm-6.30am.
A convoy traffic management system will be in place along with the 10mph speed restriction, instead of the normal 70mph limit.
Bear’s north-east unit representative, Andy Thompson, said: “These works will repair a number of cracks and potholes which will improve the general condition of the road for motorists.
“They are being carried out overnight to minimise delays. We would, however, encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance and allow some extra time.”
