More residents in council properties could benefit from improved central heating in their homes.
Proposals to expand a council heating scheme to more Aberdeen tower blocks are to be discussed at a meeting next week.
Councillors on the communities, housing and infrastructure committee will hear plans for the extension of the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) infrastructure in the city.
Stewart Park Court, Hilton Court and Granitehill House will be able to be connected as a result of extension works and are expected to be complete by 2018.
It is also understood that Murray Court, Fullerton Court and Clifton Court in Tillydrone could be linked to the network or be included as part of the extension works.
Aberdeen Donside MSP Mark McDonald said: “Expanding CHP to more blocks will benefit residents with better heating at a lower cost and I welcome any attempt by Aberdeen City Council to improve its housing stock.”
