A missing Aberdeen teenager may have been spotted in the Bridge of Don area of the city earlier today.
Guy Taylor was last seen his Westburn Road home in Aberdeen last night, at about 9pm.
Coastguard teams are now scouring the River Don in Bridge of Don looking for any trace of him.
Police have now confirmed they have received a call from one person who thought they had spotted someone matching Guy’s description in the Bridge of Don area this afternoon.
Teams of police officers were at the 14-year-old’s family home earlier today to search the property, and the garden.
Officers are also conducting door-to-door inquiries to establish whether any neighbours or nearby residents have any information which could help police trace the teenager.
Specialist search teams, and police dogs, are now scouring Westburn Park and Victoria Park for any signs of the teenager.
Inspector Matt Smith, from the Rosemount community policing team, said Guy’s disappearance – which he described as completely “out of character” – was particularly worrying given his age.
“We have been following quite a lot of leads from family members, friends and his school,” he said.
“Officers have also been carrying out inquiries nearby, where we think he might have liked to go.
“Teams will be fully searching the house and the surrounding area, including the local parks.”
Police Scotland has appealed to the public to help trace the teen.
Guy is described as around 5ft 3ins tall, with short brown hair and wearing glasses.
A police spokesperson said: “When he was last seen he was wearing beige cargo trousers, a striped t-shirt, a grey jumper, a dark blue padded jacket and red trainers with black on them. He may have two dark coloured bags or holdalls with him.
“It is out of character for Guy not to be in touch with his family and anyone who sees him is asked to contact police on 101.”
