Investigation launched after thieves target cars in Aberdeen’s west-end

An investigation has been launched after a number of cars were broken into and damaged in the west-end of Aberdeen.

The incidents took place overnight last night in Richmond Terrace, Union Grove, Rubislaw Place, Albyn Place, Queens Terrace and Queen’s Road.

The culprits made off with personal items worth about £50 in total from the vehicles, but officers say the cars targeted have also sustained significant  damage.

Sergeant Rob McLean, from the west end community policing team  said: “The vehicles targeted were parked in busy residential areas and we would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity and saw anything unusual or suspicious to contact us because it may be able to assist us with our enquiries.

“I would also like to remind residents to consider their security and take all the necessary steps they can to prevent themselves from becoming a victim of crime. This includes ensuring that your doors and windows are locked and that any valuable items are removed and stored in a safe place or kept out of sight.”
