Two cars stolen following string of Aberdeenshire thefts

Police are appealing for information
Police are appealing for information

Two cars have been stolen during a string of break-ins across Aberdeenshire.

A rural property was targeted in Maryculter, with thieves breaking into a home, garage and shed and making off with two cars and a number of items.

The vehicles stolen were a Range Rover Evoque, later recovered in Blackburn, and a BMW coupe, which officers think has been spotted in the Rhynie area.

The home was targeted in the early hours of Monday morning.

Possessions were also taken from homes on Brickfield Road, Burns Terrace and in the Westfield area of Stonehaven during the spate of thefts between Sunday and Monday.

Sergeant Neil McHattie said: “We would like to speak to any person who might have information that could assist in identifying those responsible for these crimes or anything that would relate to these incidents.

“In particular we would appeal to local taxi drivers who would have been in these streets to come forward.

“However we are also reminding residents in the Kincardine and Mearns area to remain vigilant and ensure all cars, dwellings and property are kept safely secured overnight.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
