Loveable border collie puppy on the hunt for new north-east home

A north-east dog rehoming charity is on the hunt to the perfect owners for a loveable border collie puppy.

Hamish, who is one, is currently being looked after by the team at Dawgs.

But they are keen to pair the energetic pup with an experienced owner, who has the patience to help him cope with his fear of traffic and loud noises.

The charity believes he would settle best into an adult-only home in the country.

Chairman Ian Paterson said: “Hamish is a lovely natured and very affectionate young dog. He learns quickly and is eager to please.

“He is, however, very young and puppyish in his behaviour and still has a lot to learn.

“He needs to live with someone who is at home most of the time and doesn’t have to leave him unsupervised at home.

“Hamish needs lots of exercise, long walks daily and lots of stimulation as well as on-going training.

“He is afraid of traffic so a quiet country home is essential. We are looking for an adult only home where his new owners are experienced collie or dog owners, at home all day and who have time to give him long walks, lots of exercise and continue his training.

“Hamish would make a lovely pet in the right home. While we haven’t found the right match yet we are sure there is someone out there for him – we just have to find them.”
