A youngster from Aberdeen has been rewarded for her innovative science skills at a national competition.
Skye Arnott impressed judges at the Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair with her analysis of jellyfish blooms and how their negative impact can impact upon tourism and industry in an area.
The Albyn School pupil picked up a Crest Prize and will be given a certificate and £100 alongside this.
Paul Jackson, chief executive of EngineeringUK which organises the event, said: “It’s easy to see why this idea stood out to the judges.
“But all the finalists are worthy of mention – not only for their exciting new ideas but for showcasing them to crowds of people at the fair.
“This glimpse into the minds of the scientists and inventors of tomorrow promises great things for the future.”
