A north-east man has been jailed for five years after stealing electrical items worth almost £2,000 from an Aberdeen business.
Stephen Bell appeared in Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday and admitted to breaking into Mitie Cleaning Services on the city’s Greenbank Crescent.
The 47-year-old took £1,890 worth of goods, including a laptop, from the facilities management firm on June 16 this year.
Bell, of Aberdeen, also forced his way into a “lockfast place” at the business and took documents.
Solicitor Graeme Murray said his client has “had a problem for a number of years with drugs”.
He added: “He managed to get himself out of trouble for a while. A breakdown in a relationship caused him to lose the plot somewhat.”
He was jailed for five months, backdated to July 15 when he was first remanded in custody.
