Residents in an Aberdeenshire town will be updated on flood prevention works at a special event later this month.

The information evening, updating residents on the progress of works being undertaken as part of the Huntly Flood Protection Scheme, will be held at the Nordic Ski Centre on March 29.

The £3.5million scheme is designed to reduce the risk of flooding to the Meadows Park area of Huntly and the A920 Huntly to Dufftown road.

Representatives from both Aberdeenshire Council and Wills Brothers Engineering Ltd will provide help and advice on issues raised by members of the public at the drop-in session.

Construction drawings provided by Aberdeenshire Council will be available for viewing.

Project manager, Gavin Penman, said: “We look forward to welcoming residents from Huntly and the surrounding areas to our information evening.

It’s vital we communicate with those who live and work in the area with regards to what is an extremely important project.

“We hope to see as many people as possible come down to see our progress and our team will be on hand to respond to any queries or concerns members of the public may have.”

The drop-in session is being held on Wednesday, March 29, from 7pm until 9pm.
