First Minister Nicola Sturgeon will visit an Aberdeenshire nursery today, where she will highlight what she calls the “stark contrast” between the childcare policies of her party and the Conservatives.
The SNP leader will be joined by Gordon candidate, Alex Salmond, on the visit to Dreams Daycare nursery in Insch.
Commenting in advance of the visit, Ms Sturgeon said last night: “The SNP is doubling childcare to give children the best start in life and help parents into work, while the Tories are cutting child tax credits – making life harder for working parents.
“The Tories can’t be trusted to help families – policies like the two-child tax credit limit and the abhorrent rape clause illustrate that.
“A vote for the SNP ensures there is a strong voice in Westminster to stand up for Scotland and against cruel and damaging Tory policies.
“The Tories think they can do what they want to Scotland and get away with it. The SNP won’t let them.”
