Five north-east sports clubs are to be given a share of almost £3.8million in a grant from the National Lottery.
Over 500 clubs spanning 51 sports will receive the money to fund sport and physical activity projects across the country.
The windfall ensures grassroots sport clubs in Scotland, delivering everything from wheelchair football to kayaking and American football to shinty, will now get the green light to go ahead.
Aberdeenshire sporting clubs which will receive the grant include Scottish Dodgeball, based in Westhill, which will receive £5,000 to host the European Dodgeball championships in August.
Also to benefit is Stoneywood Cricket Club in Dyce, who will receive £7,000, the biggest north-east grant. The cash will be used to purchase a range of cricket equipment in the hope of encouraging more people to get involved in the sport.

This community based cash boost comes from National Lottery Awards for All Scotland which provides grants from £500 to £10,000 with funds raised by the National Lottery.
