A man has been air-lifted to hospital in Aberdeen after he fell from the cliffs at a popular Aberdeenshire beauty spot.
The man had fallen from the coastal path at the Bullers of Buchan area just a mile north of Cruden Bay on Saturday afternoon.
Coastguard teams from Cruden Bay and Peterhead along with the RNLI crew from Peterhead were alerted to the man’s plight at 5.30pm and mounted a rescue. An coastguard air asset was also in attendance.
A spokesman for the coastguard said: “We have airlifted one male to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, his injuries are not known at this time.”
It is not yet clear how far he had fallen, but a police spokesman said that they had been speaking to the man throughout the rescue attempt.
The alarm was raised with the emergency services at 5.30pm.
