An Aberdeenshire man reported missing has been traced safe and well.
Police confirmed this morning Duncan Adam, from the Inverbervie area, had been found in the Montrose area and thanked members of the public for their assistance.
Concern for the 55-year-old began to grow after he was not seen since leaving his home on Sunday.
His disappearance sparked a major search in the Mearns area, which involved a police helicopter, specialist support officers on the ground and door to door inquiries.
After several hours of extensive searches the force confirmed they had had a breakthrough after discovering Mr Adam’s car parked at Saint Cyrus nature reserve.
Earlier police had appealed to the public to find anyone who had spotted his white Vauxhall Corsa in the area.
