Storm Caroline: Aberdeenshire homes and school hit by power cut

Engineers are currently working towards restoring power to an area of Aberdeenshire as Storm Caroline begins to batter the region.

A problem in the Abyone area was first reported to the Scottish and Southern Electricity Network at 06.31 and is expected to be restored by around 10.30am.

It is understood hundreds of homes in the area have been affected.

Logie Coldstone School has also been left with no power and the local authority said the opening has been delayed until 10am.
