The man was airlifted to hospital early this morning.
The 59-year-old was injured by a farm animal, thought to be a cow.
Police, who were called to the scene at 7.15am, confirmed that the man had suffered serious injuries.
A spokesman said: “We were called to a field in Maud at 7.14am this morning, after reports that a man was injured by one of the animals.
“He was airlifted to hospital and is in a stable condition.”
Firefighters were also in attendance.
A spokeswoman for the Health and Safety Executive said: “We are aware of an incident at a farm in Maud earlier today.
“We are currently liaising with Police Scotland.”
