A raft of improvements to one of the north-east’s largest roads have been announced.
Bear Scotland has revealed that three sections of the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road around Stonehaven will be given £400,000 improvements.
Work is scheduled to start next week and will address surface defects on the northbound slip at Spurryhillock, the Glasslaw southbound on-ramp and on the main carriageway at the same site.
The first phase is due to begin on Wednesday between 7.30pm and 6.30am, with the southbound slip closed during working hours.
Diversions will be in place and the road will also be reduced to one lane northbound with a 50mph speed limit in place.
On the following night, work will begin at the Glasslaw on-slip, which will run between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
There will also be a single lane closure on the southbound carriageway with a 50mph speed limit in place. Access will be maintained for residents within the closure.
And the final phase of the works will run from Friday to Monday and will be 24 hours a day, starting at 7.30pm.
The re-surfacing work will run between the Glasslaw on-slip and the Lumgair junction.
A contraflow system will be in place over the weekend, with single lane traffic in each direction travelling on the northbound carriageway.
All traffic management will be removed by the Monday. Access for properties within the contraflow area will be maintained.
