A man has been taken to hospital after crashing off a major north-east road this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the A92 Stonehaven to Montrose road, near its junction with Dunnottar Avenue, at around 1.05pm.
Police closed the road for around an hour after the car came off the road and crashed into a field.
It was the only vehicle involved in the collision.
A 50-year-old was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for tests.
An ambulance spokeswoman said: “We received a call to attend a road traffic collision on the A92 near Stonehaven.
“One ambulance and doctor attended and a 50-year-old patient was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for further assessment.”
A police spokeswoman added: “It appears a vehicle came off the road.
“The road was closed while emergency services made their way to the scene.”
