A group of north-east musicians have raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
Each year Dark Island Ceilidh Band band donate proceeds from their ceilidhs to charities chosen by the band members.
Their latest effort raised more than £3,000, which has been shared out among Aberdeenshire North Foodbank, Mental Health Aberdeen, Aberdeen Cyrenians, Friends of Anchor, Grampian Women’s Aid, Scottish Culture and Traditions Youth Collective, Stonehaven Folk Festival, New Arc, Friends of Plockton Music School, The Swan Trust, Bloodwise and Ethiopiaid.
The band is part of The Dark Island Trust which was created 20 years ago to promote traditional Scottish performing arts by providing opportunities for new artists to perform in public, as well as donating any proceeds made to charities.
Members of the band come from across the north-east and play a variety of instruments including the whistle, banjo and keyboard.
The band consists of Angie Bolt, from Finzean; Cathy Simpson, Caroline Clark, both from Durris; Hector Forsyth, from Westhill; Charlie West, from Stonehaven; Flora Douglas, from Culter; Brian McCreadie, from Drum of Wartle; Tony Hilton, from Drumoak; and Alan Walker from Aberdeen.
