A man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following a disturbance in an Aberdeenshire town.
Frank Marr, 42, appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday where he was accused of assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.
He was also charged with having a blade or pointed item in a public place, and with vandalism.
Marr, from Huntly, made no plea and will reappear in court at a later date.
Police were called to Scott Court in Huntly just before 5pm on Friday after reports of a disturbance.
A 52-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.
His injuries were said to be serious but not life-threatening by the police.
A great deal of police officers attended the call, and the road and surrounding area was cordoned off for several hours while police carried out inquiries.
