A historic Aberdeenshire farm building will be transformed into accommodation for an upmarket wedding venue.
Aswanley House and its surrounding land, near Haugh of Glass to the west of Huntly, has hosted a variety of weddings after an extensive conversion project.
As its success grew, its owners decided to apply for planning permission to convert an ageing coach house on the property into a plush lodge to house guests.
The building was previously a base for home guardsman during the war and latterly used as storage for farming purposes.
This week, planning permission was granted by Aberdeenshire Council.
Under the new proposals, the derelict building will receive a new lease of life.
The ground floor will contain a boot room, communal kitchen and dining area, entrance foyer, communal lounge, general store and 10 bedrooms.
It will ultimately provide a base for wedding guests and accommodation for those visiting the area.
Jack Ingleby, head of operations at Aswanley, previously told the Press and Journal the final product would be “beautiful”.

Last night, he added: “We’re really looking forward to creating something special and somewhere special for bridal parties for years to come.
“We haven’t looked at a timescale yet as to when the spade will hit the ground but it will be really exciting to see the building get a new lease of life.”
