A lorry driver had a lucky escape today when he veered off an Aberdeenshire road.
The incident took place at around 1.20pm, on the B9001 Inverurie to Rothienorman road, three miles south of the village of Meikle Wartle.
Police, ambulance and two fire engines from Inverurie attended the field where the lorry came to a stop, with smoke billowing from its engine.
Fire crews helped the driver escape the lorry with a saw and then used a hosereel jet to cool down the engine.
The driver was taken to Inverurie Medical Practice shortly after 1.40pm, where he was treated for minor injuries.
Traffic was unaffected by the accident.
