An ambulance was called to a council meeting yesterday after a councillor collapsed.
Gillian Owen fell ill during the Formartine area committee in Turriff around 11.40am.
The Conservative member stood up to excuse herself during a discussion about planning permission for kennels, and collapsed in the corridor.
A first-aider from the public gallery at the Baden Powell Centre rushed to her side and area manager Elaine Brown called for an ambulance.
The meeting was suspended while council colleagues sat with Mrs Owen, an Ellon and District councillor, who could be heard joking with paramedics when they arrived.
Councillor Alisan Norrie told members that Mrs Owen had been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance and was being treated for concussion. She is also understood to have injured her arm.
During a meeting of the full council 12 months ago, SNP councillor Stephen Smith collapsed at Woodhill House in Aberdeen and was taken to hospital by paramedics. He returned to work shortly afterwards.
