Police have cordoned off an Aberdeenshire petrol station this morning after an attempted cash machine raid.
Forensic teams are currently at the scene of the incident, at the Aboyne Service Station.
A Land Rover has been abandoned in the station’s forecourt, with a cash machine hanging out of the back
The door of the shop has been ripped off of its hinges.
The road is not blocked at this time.
UPDATE: Police have confirmed that the thieves did not manage to get away with any cash in the robbery.
A police spokesman said: “The ATM was targeted at around 1.45am on Sunday October 25 2015.
“The attempt was usuccessful and the thieves fled the scene without any cash.”
Detective Inspector Richard Taylor said: “A dark blue Land Rover Defender vehicle was used in the commission of this crime and was then left at the scene.
“I would appeal for any members of the public who saw such a vehicle or suspicious persons during late Saturday night or the early hours of Sunday morning in the Deeside area to contact us.
“If you saw this vehicle or any suspicious persons, please contact us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
