Flood barriers have been put up in Stonehaven with water levels rising on the River Carron.
After heavy rain throughout the day, the river levels are expected to peak at 1.40am.

A statement issued by Aberdeenshire Council this evening, said: “Flood barriers erected in Stonehaven.
“Following a prolonged period of heavy rainfall in the region, the level of the River Carron in Stonehaven is causing concern.
“As a precaution, members of Aberdeenshire Council’s roads teams have erected flood barriers at vulnerable locations in the town, at Low Wood Road, Cameron Street, the Old Town and the White Bridge.
“A peak in the river level is expected to coincide with high tide at around 1.40am, so levels are being carefully monitored.
“Flood wardens have been alerted and plans are being put in place to deal with any flooding which may occur.
“In the meantime, residents are advised to maintain a safe distance from swollen watercourses.
“Anyone with vehicles parked in the vicinity of the lower stretches of the River Carron may want to move them to a safer, higher area as a precaution.”
