A fourth Border Collie sheep dog stolen from the Cairnie area of Aberdeenshire has been traced safe and well in the Huntly area.
Three of the four dogs were found safe last night and police have confirmed that the fourth dog has been found today.
The four border collies were stolen from the Cairnie area, near Huntly, between 7.30pm on Wednesday and 7am Thursday.
Police say the dogs – one male and three female – are worth more than £10,000 because of their training and breeding.
Three of the four border collies were found on Friday in the Huntly area and police confirmed this afternoon that the fourth dog, a 10-year-old black and white female, has now been traced in the same area.
The four animals are all said to be safe and well.
PC Shiree Miller of Huntly Community Policing Team said “Officers from the Marr Community Policing Team carried out extensive house to house enquiries this morning (Saturday 30th Jan) and I am delighted that the last remaining of the Border Collie’s has now been traced and is back with its owners.
“Extensive enquires will continue to find out who is involved in this destressing theft. I would once again reiterate our thanks to the members of the public in the area who assisted in the safe finding of the fourth dog, which is the most experienced working dog of the four.”
