A man from the north-east and his four-legged companion Sandy have completed a sponsored walk in aid of the charity supporting his wife through her illness.
Davie Mathieson and his 17-month-old golden retriever set off from their home in Crimond and walked via Fetterangus, Mintlaw and Longside before reaching the finishing line at Peterhead Academy.
The 59-year-old initially wanted to raise £1,000 for Maggie’s Aberdeen, but has smashed his target within two weeks.
The pair began training two months ago and used local roads and footpaths, such as the Buchan Railway Line, to train for the walk.
Mr Mathieson and his wife Avril have been regularly visiting the Maggie’s Centre since last year.
The couple decided to raise money for the charity to give something back for the support they have received.
Mr Mathieson said: “The centre has been a great place of help and comfort to us through this life-changing journey that we have had to unfortunately embark on after Avril’s diagnosis.
“Whether it be popping in for a coffee, attending one of the many classes and workshops provided or receiving help and advice from centre staff, every visit is worthwhile in our opinion.”
“Walking such a long way in one day was quite a challenge for us.
“Myself and Sandy had not walked such a distance before but our training definitely helped.
“I feel really proud now that we have done what we set out to do. Sandy certainly deserves a few extra biscuits after that.”

“The team are delighted that Davie and Sandy successfully completed their walk and that they had such a lovely day to walk this distance.
