Two men have been taken to hospital following a two car crash on a notorious Aberdeenshire road.
The A947 Aberdeen to Banff road has been closed in both directions at St Katherine’s, near Fyvie, following the collision at about 4.50pm.
Police, fire and ambulance teams were called following the incident.
Firefighters had to help remove a casualty from one of the vehicles, however they did not use any cutting gear.
Two fire teams – from Inverurie and Turriff – were called to the scene.
A police spokesman said: “The road is still closed but shouldn’t be closed too much longer. The drivers of both cars were taken to hospital.”
Their injuries were not said to be serious.
