A disqualified driver who drove away in his girlfriend’s Porsche before trying to lure two women into it was caught hiding by police in the boot of another car.
Graham Redvers-Walker was spotted on Portlethen’s Hillside Road pulling up alongside Wilhelmina Esson in the black sports car.
He then pulled over and accelerated harshly before repeatedly asking Ms Esson to get into the passenger seat.
When she refused the 60-year-old drove to Asda before trying to entice Eileen Lyon to get into the Porsche next to him.
Scared by his behaviour Ms Lyon, who does not know Redvers-Walker, went to report his behaviour to the staff in the supermarket, who called the police.
And when they turned up at his home to arrest him they found him hiding in the boot of another vehicle.
Yesterday Redvers-Walker appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court to be sentenced having previously admitted committing a total of eight offences.
He admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance, as well as taking and driving away the Porsche without his partner’s permission.
He also admitted scaring the two women by trying to get them into his vehicle and failing to provide a number of preliminary and final breath tests.
Redvers-Walker, of San Cipher, Hillside, Portlethen, admitted a further charge of failing to identify himself as the driver of the car on June 6.
The court heard that witnesses had also described the accused as smelling strongly of alcohol, slurring his speech and being unsteady on his feet.
Fiscal depute Laura Begg said after Redvers-Walker left Asda car park he headed to a mechanical body shop and handed them over the car and the keys. He then walked back to his house where his partner told him she had reported the car missing.
She said: “He went to hide the in the garage. The police arrived and found him hiding in the boot of a car.”
Sheriff Margaret Hodge deferred sentence until later this month for a restriction of liberty order assessment to be carried out.
