Five men have appeared in court accused of being involved with serious organised crime to supply drugs.

Invergordon men Cameron Ross, 19, Owen Robinson, 19, Ryan Rosss, 25, from Tain, Alasdair Finlayson, 23 and Daniel Degan, 30, both from Alness, appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.

It came after police revealed they had seized £700,000 of drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, from rural areas of Alness since February.

All five are charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis, and being involved in serious organised crime to facilitate the supply of drugs.

Finlayson is further accused of being involved in serious crime by supplying large amounts of drugs between England and Scotland and directing the other five men to organise the supply of drugs.

He and Degan are also charged with being concerned in the supply of Ketamine.

All six men made no plea and were committed for further examination. They were released on bail.

On Thursday, police revealed they had seized the drugs as part of an intelligence-led operation and that the investigation was still ongoing.

Detective Inspector William Nimmo urged anyone with information about drug-related activity to come forward.
