A lorry driver has been fined after he crashed into a bridge – because he was following a pre-programmed route.
Ionut Stanila attempted to drive under the height-restricted Lower Kessock Street bridge on October 7 last year.
But he crashed into it, trapping his vehicle under the 14ft railway bridge.
The 34-year-old, of Scandinavian Way, Immingham, near Grimsby, had to crawl out of the cab.
A recovery vehicle had to tow his HGV out.

Stanila had originally been charged with dangerous driving, but admitted the lesser charge of careless driving at Inverness Sheriff Court.
Defence solicitor John MacColl said: “His employers gave him the pre-programmed route and he did not expect a low bridge. But it is still his fault because he was the driver.”
Stanila was fined £630 and given seven penalty points.
