‘She told me he was evil’: Stabbing victim recalls chilling warning from domestic abuser’s ex

Kevin Anderson with one of his victims, whose face was scarred with the imprint of his ring during one of his many attacks.

A domestic abuse survivor whose “evil” ex-partner repeatedly stabbed her leg with scissors said today she regretted ignoring a warning from his previous victim.

Kevin Anderson, 26, was jailed for three years and nine months after inflicting horrific abuse on two girlfriends over a five-year period.

One of them, a 26-year-old from Aberdeen, said she felt “absolutely disgusted” to learn what Anderson had done to the woman before her.

Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard that Anderson caused his pregnant partner to miscarry after pushing her down a flight of stairs.

He later forced the distraught woman to dig a grave for their miscarried baby with her bare hands.

After that relationship ended, Anderson moved on to his next girlfriend and the abuse continued from June 2019 until April 2021.

In one violent incident, Anderson left an imprint of his ring on her face and stabbed her in the leg with a pair of scissors.

Speaking at the conclusion of the case, she said: “The girl in the previous relationship actually messaged when me and Kevin first got together.

“She told me Kevin was evil and he was going to make my life hell. I just brushed it off as a jealous ex, as most girls probably would.

“I wish I could go back in time to believe what was said because maybe I wouldn’t be in the position that I am now.”

One of Kevin Anderson’s victims suffered scissor stab wounds to her leg (left) and his ring imprinted on her face (right)

The woman, who shares children with Anderson, recalled the chilling campaign of psychological and physical abuse she suffered.

“Just before stabbing my leg with scissors while our son was in the next room sleeping, he gave me a black eye,” she said.

“The pattern that he had with his previous relationship, like locking her in a house, he used to do the same with me.

“He used to either lock me in or if he left as I was leaving, he used to take my key off me. I wasn’t allowed to enter my home without him being there.

“I had to go sit in my grandma’s house with my kids and wait for him to decide to come home.

Kevin Anderson is finally behind bars.

“I wasn’t allowed to enter my home without him being there because I got accused of sleeping with other people in my own house.

“He used to check my bedsheets. He used to check my underwear.

“I wasn’t allowed to have a bath without him making sure that I hadn’t slept with somebody else.”

Sheriff Graham Buchanan jailed Anderson for three years and nine months, backdated to when he was first remanded.

He also made indefinite non-harassment orders in respect of both his victims, stating Anderson posed a “significant risk of causing severe harm to members of the public”.

‘I fear for my children’

Speaking about the conclusion of the court case, the victim said: “I am happy with the outcome.

“The only thing that I’m not happy about is the fact that I’ve got children with him.”

She said: “As much as I love my kids, having kids with him is just a constant reminder of the horror that he put my life through.

“I do fear for my children being brought up around his behaviour. Are they going to turn out to be what he’s like?”
