A second and a third person have appeared in court on charges connected with the alleged abduction of a woman in Fraserburgh on Sunday.
The accused man and woman attended Peterhead Sheriff Court for a brief hearing in private today.
Maksims Mavro, 45, and Inesa Kalmykovaite, 28, both made no plea during the short court proceedings.
Mavro, whose address was given as the general area of Aberdeenshire, and Kalymkovaite, who lives in Peterhead, are each facing a single charge of abduction and assault.
They were committed for further examination, and the pair was then released on bail.
Fraserburgh man already charged
Yesterday, Ryan Borwick, 25, was released on bail from a Peterhead courtroom.
He is accused of three offences, including one charge of abduction and assault, a second of assault, and a third charge of malicious mischief.
Like Mavro and Kalmykovaite, Borwick, of Fraserburgh, made no plea, was committed for further examination, and released to appear at a later date still to be confirmed.
The latest court appearances came after Police Scotland confirmed earlier in the week that the constabulary had received a report of a 45-year-old woman being abducted over the weekend.
It’s claimed the ordeal unfolded in the Broadsea Road area of Fraserburgh on Sunday June 15.
Following the alleged incident, a police spokesperson described it as “isolated” and added that officers’ enquiries were “ongoing”.
They also said there is “no wider risk to the public.”
