VIDEO: The woman who just wants to be Star Trek’s Spock

Asked what kind of person she was a few years ago, Eilidh Montgomery will tell you “not a very nice one”.

She struggled to make friends, with her efforts resulting in pushing people further away, she was very emotional and had a terrible temper.

Then she found something that turned her whole life around – she found Spock.

As a child who grew up without television, Eilidh first came into contact with the starship Enterprise’s first officer in her late 20s while studying Gaelic Language and Culture at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on Skye.

The real Spock from Star Trek
One of Eilidhs signed photographs of the real Spock from Star Trek

She had been trying to write an essay when she decided to watch some TV to distract herself.

She said she had heard of Star Trek through her father and had seen pictures of it but had never seen the show.

After finding it while flicking through the channels, she decided to give it a go.

After that, Eilidh was hooked and soon decided to take on the half-Vulcan/half-human’s iconic look – complete with his eyebrows, fringe and ears.

She said on a daily basis she will dress in her uniform, especially while writing and watching TV.

She has also accumulated one of the biggest Star Trek collections in the country which includes around 300 photographs, books, dvds, coasters, mugs and even music that she can play on her flute and guitar.
