Two sets of roadworks in the north are all to get underway this Sunday and will see almost £1 million worth of improvements to the road network.
Sections of the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road, at Nairn are set to benefit from £360,000 worth of resurfacing improvements with works scheduled to start this weekend.
The resurfacing improvements, it is hoped, will address any road defects in the carriageway, creating a smoother and safer journey for road users.
The overnight project is set to begin on Sunday August 25 and is programmed to take three weeks to complete with the project split into two phases.
The work will take place between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night with surfacing improvements due to be completed by 6.30am on Thursday September 12.
The first phase of improvements will take place between Albert Street and Tradespark Road before moving onto improvements between Sainsburys Roundabout and the A939 Junction.
No works are programmed for Saturday nights. A convoy system will be in place during working hours.
Works will also take place on the A9 Aviemore to Inverness road, at Daviot starting on Sunday for four weeks.
The £600,000 investment by Transport Scotland will see improvements carried out across one mile sections of both the southbound and northbound dualled carriageways, creating a smoother and safer journey for motorists.

The north Moy Junction will be closed for safety between 7pm and 7am from Sunday September 8 until Wednesday September 18 when the project moves to the northbound carriageway.
Access to Moy will be maintained through a signed diversion route via the south Moy Junction.
Due to the 14ft height restriction on this diversion route, vehicles exceeding this height will be stacked and allowed access though the works when safe to do so. Emergency services will be allowed access at all times.
