A male motorist was trapped underneath a lorry following a two-vehicle crash in Spean Bridge.
The incident involving a Mercedes bus and a HGV unfolded on the A82 Inverness to Fort William trunk road at the junction with A86 shortly after noon, leaving one male casualty trapped beneath the wreckage.
Firefighters used air bags and bricks to lift the HGV off the man, before freeing him from the debris.
He was then taken by ambulance to the Belford Hospital in Fort William with leg injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
Police, firefighters and paramedics raced to the scene following initial reports of a multi-vehicle crash around 12.40pm.
A police spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of a crash between a Mercedes bus and a HGV around 12.41pm on the A82 at Spean Bridge. A man sustained leg injuries and was taken to the Belford Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.”
Two crews from Fort William and a heavy rescue unit from Inverness attended the scene, with a fourth appliance from Fort Augustus stopping to assist crew members after coming across the incident on their way back to base.
Paramedics from the ambulance service were also stationed at the scene to help treat any injured parties.
The road remained open but passable with care as crews continued to clear the scene.
