The owner of a Caithness petting farm has told of losing about 10 chickens that she believes were stolen.
Puffin Croft in John O’Groats was established by Cara Young in late 2016 after she gave up her job as a nanny in London to build a new life in the Highlands of Scotland.
The Highland croft is home to more than 50 animals, a farmhouse and shop as well as on-site bakery and B&B.
But Miss Young wrote on social media: “I am sad to say that in the last week approximately 10 of my chickens were stolen at night.
“Whoever took them either for themselves or to sell is probably hoping for fresh eggs that they don’t have to pay for.”
Miss Young is now urging anyone with information to get in touch.
